Before, the problem had persisted with both nova launcher and Touch Wiz, and both my custom ROM and my stock ROM. Problem occurs on my Nexus S, don't have Be Weather.
The only widgets that would update are a digital clock (updates per minute) and a battery level indicator.
It is simply invisible; apparently due to the fact that the whole widget is dynamic by nature. First occurrence: Immediately after updating OTA to Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) 4.0.4 from Gingerbread 2.3.6 (about a day or two ago).
Subsequent occurrences: Simply wait a few hours and widgets will suddenly stop updating. ****** Temporary workaround ******* I have searched the Google groups and others seemed to have run into this problem when ICS first rolled out OTA for Nexus S back in Dec.
Most common link seems to be notifications about market updates but could be coincidence. I have to restart my launcher several times per day.
It doesn't seem to be localized to a particular phone, but to a particular build. I want to upgrade to a Galaxy Nexus, but I'm wondering if the same problem will persist. Android is getting a bad rep for taking ages to roll out updates.
id=hu.) This widget was totally functional before 4.0.4 and no update came from it between my test (done one ore two month ago) Hello all, I think that the problem is related to widget which need a refresh frequently as a clock displaying second or an animation.
removing it from a desk resolved the problem on all desk (clock available in : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details? Apps 2) Select "Running" Apps tab 3) Click on "Show Cached Processes" 4) Click on "Launcher" 5) Stop the process and return to the home screen 6) The home screen will blank out while Launcher restarts and will reload in 3-7 seconds. yes but I don't want to kill the launcher several times a day...
Sometimes it operates normally, but with more lag that before the 4.0.4 update.

Crossing my fingers that this problem is gone forever!
BTW my phone is a Samsung Galaxy S2 with ICS custom ROM, Nova Launcher.
I know this sounds odd, but is there any way we can force the launcher to periodically restart on its own to prevent these kind of hangups? I also have the issue where my phone doesn't match up numbers to contacts in my address book so when people call I have no idea who it is!
