We plan on redoing everything from the ground up, starting first with a Single Sign-On system -- which was what we planned today -- to decouple authentication and make adding new things much easier. If you'd like to be part of this major undertaking, please hop on our IRC and ask about it in the #hackthissite channel, or email us at staff (at) hack this site (dot) org.Help us hack this site into a brand new Hack This Site!Phrack is the longest running (and quite possibly best) hacker zine out there and we recommend you check it out immediately.
We have a lot of new faces coming around and several who are new to CTFs and would like to participate. This is a great for those of you who want to participate that have busy schedules.
So, we are going to step back on the difficulty a little bit for our next event. We'll be attacking this challenge like we have done all the others in the past by working together for the learning experience.
It has been a few weeks since we last competed and we do not want to get rusty.
We solidified some major decisions on direction and technology, assigned responsibilities, and planned deliverables. Any HTS user can tell you that many parts of the site are broken, and any staffer can tell you it's because the code is atrocious.
Finding good editors, motivating skilled hackers to write about their exploits and keeping up the quality is no easy feat (which is why we're not doing it anymore).
But as they have done this for longer than I've been alive, Phrack delivers. In this continuation of the series, let's look at slightly different approach to attacking wireless. Like anything in life, there are multiple ways of getting a hack done.In fact, good hackers usually have many tricks up their sleeve to hack into a system.Hack This Site is a free, safe and legal training ground for hackers to test and expand their hacking skills. This is another perfect opportunity for you to join in and get your feet wet on CTFs if you have never participated before. However, if you wish to join in with the HTS Team we will provide you with the necessary details to be sure we can all stay together. While we primarily use IRC to communicate we do have a discord server available for voice comms.More than just another hacker wargames site, we are a living, breathing community with many active projects in development, with a vast selection of hacking articles and a huge forum where users can discuss hacking, network security, and just about everything. ABCTF strives to engage young security enthusiasts in the hot field of cybersecurity.Seasoned CTF runners I encourage you to take charge and be team leads for new people.
